Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Business Analyst to join our agile product team supporting the development of a next-generation platform for 2nd Line Risk Management within our Enterprise Governance, Risk, and Compliance (eGRC) framework. In this role, you will work closely with Product Owners, developers, and stakeholders to gather, document, and track business requirements, while also supporting day-to-day product operations. Your responsibilities will include writing user stories, assisting with backlog management, supporting users through troubleshooting and demos, and helping ensure the platform meets business and regulatory needs. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their career who has strong communication and analytical skills, enjoys problem-solving, and is eager to learn and grow into more advanced product and business analysis responsibilities over time.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, developers, and stakeholders to gather, document, and refine business requirements.
- Translate risk management and operational resilience processes into clear and actionable user stories and acceptance criteria, with guidance from senior team members.
- Support backlog grooming, sprint planning, and prioritization activities by preparing and organizing requirements and documentation.
- Conduct basic gap analysis and support impact assessments for new features, enhancements, and regulatory-related changes.
- Assist in tracking deliverables from initiation through completion, ensuring requirements are clearly documented and aligned with business needs.
- Prepare clear and well-structured materials, reports, and updates for team members and stakeholders, with opportunities to develop presentation skills over time.
- Support user-facing activities including troubleshooting issues, responding to inquiries, managing tickets, and delivering product demonstrations.
- Partner with QA teams to support testing, validate functionality, and ensure requirements are met.
- Facilitate or support workshops and stakeholder meetings to gather requirements and clarify open questions.
- Monitor and help report on progress, risks, and dependencies across the product lifecycle.
- Perform data analysis to support requirements development, issue investigation, and decision-making.
Required Skills
- Requirement gathering
- Leadership experience (with potential to move into a product owner role)

- Experience working in an Agile environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including working with large data sets
Education Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required
Required Experience
- 3–5 years of overall experience
- Background in banking or financial institutions (top Canadian banks/FIs) in non-financial risk management preferred
Work Environment / Physical Requirements
- Approximately 3 hours per day spent in meetings
- Interaction with both internal and external stakeholders
- No access to customer data
- Team size: 10 people
- Training period: 3–4 weeks
- No upcoming PTO
