About The Role

We are seeking an experienced HR Professional to join our dynamic team, with a focus on maintaining and enhancing the HR functions across Canada and the United States. This role requires a blend of operational excellence, agility, and hands-on execution to support our international workforce effectively. The HR Generalist will play a pivotal role in ensuring smooth HR operations, compliance with local labor laws, and fostering a positive employee experience. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, highly organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, global environment with diverse regulatory requirements.

The successful candidate will manage day-to-day HR activities, including employee onboarding and offboarding, payroll processing, benefits administration, and compliance monitoring. They will serve as a key point of contact for employee inquiries related to policies, benefits, and procedures, ensuring a consistent and compliant HR approach across jurisdictions. Additionally, this role involves supporting employee engagement initiatives, promoting an inclusive culture, and coordinating HR-related events that enhance overall employee satisfaction and retention.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in Human Resources
  • Strong employee relations experience
  • Knowledge of payroll processing and tax regulations
  • Familiarity with a wide range of HR practices including compliance, leave management, and vendor relationships
  • Strong understanding of both Canadian and US HR practices (preferred)
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
  • Thorough knowledge of employment laws and regulations in Canada and the US
  • Effective time management and prioritization skills
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and current employee records in HRIS systems for employees across Canada and the US
  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes, including documentation, system setup, and coordination
  • Prepare HR documents such as employee verification letters and policy updates
  • Respond to employee inquiries related to HR policies, benefits, and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with federal, provincial, and state employment laws and regulations; review policies regularly
  • Assist with audits and reporting requirements related to HR data and compliance
  • Manage work authorizations, visas, and related documentation for international employees
  • Process payroll accurately and efficiently for US and Canadian employees
  • Support benefits administration, including enrollments and changes, acting as liaison with benefits providers
  • Contribute to employee engagement initiatives and internal communications
  • Coordinate HR-related events and promote an inclusive, diverse workplace culture
