What do Break-Relief Coordinators do?

You are responsible for administering breaks to all Screening Personnel and Hourly Non-Screening Personnel at Screening Checkpoints:

Creating and managing break schedules for all Screening and Hourly Non-Screening Personnel at the Screening Checkpoints.

Working with software’s such as Paladin’s Employee Resource Planning (ERP), WinTeam as well as the dispatch module within Paladin Insight.

Monitoring break times to ensure that employees take breaks and return to their duties promptly to maintain operational requirements.

Arranging relief by providing adequately trained and qualified personals to checkpoints.

Maintain and provide accurate records of break schedules, employee break times, and any incidents or deviations from break policies for reporting and compliance purposes.

Cross-Reference break times in TAS with ERP and WinTeam to match CATSA’s TAS for both payroll and billing accuracy.

Supporting and observing personnel to effectively communicate and provide needed support to Field Managers, Operations Managers and Employee Care Managers (Labour Relations).

Identifying improvements and implementing new policies and procedures related to break-relief.

Addressing any issues or conflicts related to breaks, such as staffing shortages during peak periods, overlapping breaks, emergencies requiring adjustments to break schedules and escalating complaints from Screening and Non-Screening Personnel.

Providing investigative support and documentation to Field Managers, Operations Managers and Employee Care Managers (Labour Relations) when disciplinary interventions are required. For Example, an employee who has not returned from break on time.

Responsible for creating various reports for the Operations Management Team and working with the Scheduling Analyst to refine Break Scheduling Practices.

Will be accountable for all overtime required to facilitate breaks for their checkpoints.

Actively performance manage screening officers

What you bring to PASS:

Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident of Canada.

1 Year of experience working in the aviation industry, union, or related field.

Diploma or Degree in a related field is a strong asset

Experienced with managing people, organization, and industry knowledge of regulations of policies

Hold a Valid RAIC or be able to obtain a Transport Security Clearance and have no unpardoned criminal record.

Fluency in English (Verbal and Written), French as an asset

Knowledge of Labour Relations and Collective Agreements

Experience with ERP Software and WinTeam or have equivalent experience in a related field.

Demonstrated exceptional organizational, customer service skills and crisis management skills.

You are available to work any shift as required by the airport operation. This will include early morning, day, late evening, nights, weekends, and statutory holidays.
