Responsibilities:

Delivery of production ready Qlik View applications for actuarial valuation reporting and analysis.

Oversight of Reporting Database Developer and Qlik Analysts.

Adherence to VST standards in architecture, programming, and documentation.

Guide Reporting Analysts and Reporting DB Developers to interpret actuarial requirements for sensible IT implementation.

Offer alternative solutions to RP&C analysts when technically

challenging

solutions are proposed.

Take ownership of data issues and reporting specification gaps, set priorities with the business, etc.

Build a strategic partnership with RP&C team.

Overview of various Reporting Applications and Feeds, outlining their usage.

Ensure understanding of Line of Business (LoB) specific feed requirements (GL, MCCSR, NAIC, other).

Understand interactions between RP&C team and D&S teams.

Collaborative

model participation and interaction with RP&C and D&S teams.

Solid grasp of reporting development process including data exchanges, roles, responsibilities, and end-user requirements.

Adherence to standard VST Annex development process while constantly improving efficiencies based on past lessons learned.

Knowledge of existing data in the warehouse.

Understanding of line of business strategy.

Utilize templates for business specifications and Qlik View app specifications.

Ability for the team to build and design simultaneously.

Knowledge of team structure for ongoing support for fixes and enhancements.

Program updates and

teamwork

plan and timeline generation.

What you will need to succeed:

1-3 years experience in a relevant field.

Bilingual in English and French (spoken and written).

Ability to

engage in daily interactions with Business Unit and Division Actuarial SMEs.

Experience writing queries (SQL preferred).

Proficiency in developing Qlik View tactical applications through iteration of prototypes.

Understanding of source data and actuarial reporting & analysis requirements.

Competency in developing data sourcing, transformation, and calculation scripts in Qlik View.

Experience in developing user interfaces in Qlik View.

Capacity to document technical specifications (data-to-report mappings, data-to-analysis mappings) in parallel to development.

Capability to convert tactical applications to strategic configurations.

Quality Assurance

support, including advice on creation of test cases and data, and bug fixes.

Continuous improvement

mindset for Reporting work stream methodology.

Proficiency in managing Excel files for administrative work.
