Job Overview
We are seeking a talented and passionate Pastry Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in baking and pastry arts, with a focus on creating visually appealing and delicious but HEALTHY products. This role offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your skills in a Vegetarian restaurant environment. Must have a reliable vehicle to commute.
Duties
- Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, cakes, and desserts according to established recipes and presentation standards
- Ability to prepare Vegetarian, vegan , low fat , low sugar bakery items
- Decorate cakes and pastries with intricate designs
- Ensure all baked goods meet food safety and quality standards
- Assist in food preparation tasks, including ingredient measurement, mixing, and assembling desserts
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry station and kitchen area
- Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new dessert ideas and seasonal offerings or help in the general kitchen if needed
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a bakery based cafe, restaurant or bakery setting, with knowledge of food preparation and baking techniques
- Skilled in cake decorating and food presentation
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and proper food handling practices
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong customer service skills to interact positively with guests when needed
- Kitchen experience within the food industry is preferred
- Passion for baking, creativity, and a keen eye for detail are essential qualities for success in this role
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $18.00-$21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25 – 40 per week
