Asphalt Paving Foreman Jobs in Mena, AR at Blackstone Construction LLC
Blackstone Construction LLC. is now accepting applications for asphalt paving foreman for our Mena, Arkansas operations to oversee and supervise our asphalt paving crews on various projects such as commercial parking lots, city streets, county and state roadways, as well as interstate highways. The ideal candidate for this role will have a demonstrated ability to train and retain crew members focused on safety, quality, and productivity.
General Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:
- Supervise, coordinate, or schedule the activities of a small group of constructions workers.
- Be willing to travel in the state of Arkansas
- Prioritize, delegate and perform all work placing safety first in all things.
- Ability to perform asphalt paving, stone set-up, and milling operations in accordance with ARDOT, County, City and Commercial Specifications.
- Record daily time, production and site conditions.
- Maintain daily diary.
- Communicates daily with Project Manager, other foreman, plants, subcontractors and vendors to discuss schedule and production needs.
- Perform the duties of all asphalt crew team member.
- Utilize knowledge of asphalt quality control measures.
- Ensure the timely delivery of hot asphalt from contracted plant to work sites.
Physical Requirements and Qualifications:
- Ability to do physical labor and other strenuous physical tasks.
- Valid Arkansas driver’s license in good standing -CDL a plus.
- Ability to work overtime, as required.
- At least five years of work experience in the paving and repair of street surfaces using asphalt materials and/or related asphalt equipment, with references.
- Proven track record of completing jobs under budget and on time by setting clear expectations and feedback to crew members.
- Ability to work well with team members or inspectors while managing stressful situations in changing environments.
- Substantial lifting (up to 50 pounds) is required
- Ability to stand, walk and perform task for extended or continuous periods of time
- Exposure to outdoor weather conditions
- Exposure to loud noise, fumes or dust
