Job Overview
Securetron Alarm Company LLC is seeking a highly experienced Alarm Technician to join our professional security team. This role focuses on the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of advanced commercial and industrial security systems across Wisconsin, with occasional travel to surrounding states. Travel expenses are covered for out-of-state assignments.
We are looking for a self-directed technician with a minimum of 5 years of experience who operates with minimal supervision and demonstrates strong confidence and independence on job sites. The ideal candidate is technically proficient, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering high-quality, reliable security solutions.
Compensation is competitive and based on experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, program, and service commercial security systems, including intrusion alarms, fire alarms, CCTV, access control systems, and sensors
- Perform system testing, diagnostics, and advanced troubleshooting to ensure optimal system performance
- Execute installations involving low-voltage wiring, structured cabling, and integrated security systems (IDS, remote access platforms, etc.)
- Interpret and work from blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings with accuracy
- Conduct preventative maintenance, system upgrades, and repairs on all associated components
- Safely and efficiently utilize hand tools, power tools, and installation equipment in compliance with safety standards
- Provide professional client interaction, including system demonstrations and technical guidance
- Maintain accurate and detailed service documentation, reports, and compliance records
- Travel throughout Wisconsin and occasionally to surrounding states as project needs require
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in alarm and security system installation and service
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision in field environments
- Strong expertise in low-voltage systems, electrical work, and adherence to NEC standards
- Proficiency in installing and servicing CCTV, fire alarm systems, access control, and intrusion detection systems
- Solid understanding of networking, telecommunications, and system integration
- Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, blueprints, and system schematics
- Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities
- Proficiency with industry-standard tools and installation equipment
- Strong communication skills and professionalism in client-facing situations
- Willingness and ability to travel as required
Valued Qualifications

- NICET Certification (Fire Alarm Systems or related)
- ESA (Electronic Security Association) Certification
- Low Voltage or Electrical License (state or local, where applicable)
- Manufacturer certifications (e.g., Honeywell, Bosch, DSC, or similar systems)
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification
- Networking certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+ or similar)
