Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces of aerospace components by cleaning, sanding, and masking using hand tools and power tools to ensure optimal paint adhesion.
- Apply coatings using airless paint spraying equipment, ensuring even coverage and smooth finishes on complex surfaces.
- Utilize industrial painting techniques specific to aerospace standards, including auto body repair methods when necessary.
- Operate cranes, forklifts, and other materials handling equipment safely to move large parts and assemblies efficiently within the workspace.
- Conduct quality inspections using precision measuring instruments and verify that finishes meet specified color, texture, and thickness requirements.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols related to welding, fabrication, and the use of hazardous materials.
- Assist with fabrication or assembly tasks as needed, supporting overall manufacturing processes with mechanical knowledge and craftsmanship.
Experience
- Proven experience in industrial or automotive painting, preferably within aerospace or manufacturing environments.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and airless paint spraying systems.
- Knowledge of machining, fabrication, auto body repair, and materials handling procedures.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and warehouse operations for efficient workflow management.
- Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring instruments for accurate application of coatings.
- Experience working with cranes, forklifts, or other heavy machinery is highly desirable.
