Job Details
Position Title: Admissions Officer
Status: Appendix D Contract – until January 2028
Hours: 35 hours per week
Faculty/Department: Office of the Registrar
Campus/Location: North Campus. This is a hybrid position – the successful applicant must be comfortable working on-site at minimum four (4) days per week.
Salary: Payband I Salary Range: $40.39 to $46.64
Starting Salary: $40.39
Progression through the payband is in accordance with the increments in the payband as outline in the Full-Time Support Staff Collective Agreement based on actual service in the payband.

The Office of the Registrar supports and celebrates student success. We provide students and the campus community with support through the distribution of key information, high-quality service delivery and the maintenance of essential systems and processes. Our dedicated staff work in a myriad of areas including Admissions, Academic Records, Convocation, Contact Centre, Fees, Financial Aid, Registration & Course Scheduling, Reporting, and Student Systems at both our North and Lakeshore campuses. About The Admissions Officer Role
Reporting to the Manager, Admissions, the Admissions Officer supports the achievement of the institution’s recruitment and enrolment plans as defined by Humber’s SEM framework for the domestic student population.
The incumbent analyzes and coordinates the admission process for domestic applicants for a cluster of assigned programs. The Admissions Officer is expected to be the subject matter expert on admissions for these programs and as such, complex or non-routine issues are referred to the Admissions Officer. The incumbent provides information and communicates with prospective students, applicants, guidance counsellors, parents, faculty, and college administrators regarding a broad range of admissions related question/topics. The incumbent provides leadership and training to a designated work group, as well as provides support to the College’s recruitment and admissions efforts by attending events and delivering information sessions on and off-campus.

Education
- The successful candidate will possess a 4-year degree or equivalent in Public Relations, Marketing, Education, Business, or in a related field.
Experience/Skills
- A minimum of 3-years progressive work experience
- Thorough knowledge of the secondary school, college and university system.
- Some knowledge of the educational systems of other provinces and countries.
- Strong judgment, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Superior communication skills with the ability to explain complex processes
- Leadership skills and the ability to work independently
- Ability to train and motivate a team
- Excellent organizational skills and presentation skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to develop proficiency within the student information system. Ability to work in a highly automated environment
