Job Overview: We’re looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to handle bookkeeping and full cycle accounting responsibilities. This is a new position, with one vacancy to fill.
Responsibilities:
- Record, process, and deposit all incoming disbursement cheques.
- Record, process, and deposit all incoming ATE claims and referral income cheques.
- Prepare and distribute monthly lawyer metrics reports.
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of all financial data reporting.
- Track, record, and calculate monthly commissions for Ontario lawyers.
- Verify accuracy of commission entries and ensure all supporting documentation is complete.
- Maintain organized commission records for audit and reporting purposes.
- Perform bookkeeping duties for related entities, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
- Maintain general ledgers, reconcile accounts, and prepare periodic financial summaries as required.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure proper allocation of shared expenses and intercompany transactions.
- Support monthend and yearend processes for related companies.
- Support the Controller in planning and executing yearend financial processes.
- Process writeoffs and adjustments as required.
- Prepare and submit all reports and documentation requested by the external accountant.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or financial operations.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and reconciliation processes.
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
