Full job description
We are looking for a Youth Worker to join our team and provide guidance and support to young people. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing assistance with educational, social, and emotional needs, as well as helping to create a safe and supportive environment for the youth. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with young people, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build relationships with those they work with.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement programs for youth.
Provide guidance and support to youth in need.
Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness.
Maintain accurate records of program activities.
Communicate with parents, teachers, and other professionals regarding the progress of the youth.
Conduct assessments of the needs of the youth.
Provide crisis intervention services as needed.
Job duties
Review client background information, interview clients to obtain case history and prepare intake reports
Assist clients to sort out options and develop plans of action while providing necessary support and assistance
Working in partnership with various community agencies to coordinate support services for Youth
Providing specialized case management and community outreach
Creating Incident reports
Attending appointments with youth
Submitting weekly activity reports
Ensuring a clean, safe and secure environment
Informal counselling and workshop facilitation
Program design and implementation
Acting as a role model and facilitate the client’s physical, emotional and intellectual growth and development
Assisting in the implementation and monitoring of the client’s plan of residency within the program
Providing individual and group counselling/support to clients
Creating Safety Plans with Youth
Answering crisis calls as well as calls from various community agencies and supporting services or staff
Preparing room for new Clients
Working with CAS to create plan of care for youth
Assisting Clients with grocery shopping or appointments drop off and pick up when required
Experience working with CAS youth
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Casual
Pay: $19.00-$22.00 per hour
