Youth Housing Worker

Surrey Youth Reaching Home

Regular Full Time (35 hours/week)

Grid 13 ($29.96 – $31.24/hour)

Opportunity

Pacific Community Resources Society is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Youth Housing Worker in Surrey. This worker will provide housing support for youth up to the age of 24, who are currently experiencing homelessness or are at imminent risk of homelessness. The housing worker’s primary responsibility will be to support youth to remain housed or find and secure safe and affordable housing. The worker will maintain a caseload and provide community outreach services. The worker will also liaise with other agencies, shelters and safe houses to ensure homeless youth have access to services to end the cycle of homelessness.

One to one case management support

Data entry

Liase with MSPDR and other agencies, shelters and safe houses

Other housing and administrative tasks as required.

Qualifications

B.A. or a degree in a related field plus one (1) years experience; OR Diploma in a related field plus (2) years related experience.

Criminal record check, including the vulnerable sector

Class 5 drivers license

Use of own personal vehicle with business use insurance (mileage paid)

Drivers abstract

Additional Assets

Experience working with multi-barriered street entrenched homeless youth is required

Strong knowledge of tenant and landlord rights and responsibilities under the B.C. Residential Tenancy

Strong administrative skills and experience

Familiarity with Surrey and the surrounding area.
