Yard Coordinator Jobs in Odessa, TX at PDQ Recycling Inc
PDQ Recycling is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Quality Control Inspector to join our team. This position plays a key role in maintaining the accuracy, quality, and efficiency of our daily scale / yard operations. The ideal candidate will assist with traffic flow within the facility, ensure correct grading and documentation of materials, support customer service initiatives, and help maintain overall operational integrity.
Responsibilities
· As an inspector you will be the first point of contact with our customers as they bring scrap materials into the yard
· Your primary responsibilities will be inspecting and documenting customer loads and directing traffic to the proper collection site within the yard.
· Maintain a broad and working knowledge of different types of ferrous and non-ferrous materials
· Identify and grade inbound scrap and reject unacceptable items
· Work closely with Scale Operator to verify the accuracy of all loads
· Performs other general laborer duties as directed
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
· Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, etc.)
· Ability to stand, walk, and move continuously throughout the shift
· Comfortable working in an industrial, fast-paced environment
Position Details
· Full-time with Overtime. Monday – Friday 8 AM to 6 PM, Saturday 8 AM to 4:30 PM
· Weekly Pay
Requirements
· Strong customer service and communication skills
· Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities
· 1-year previous general labor in the scrap metal or construction industry preferred
· Ability to carry out instructions provided in written, oral, or diagrammatic form
· Ability to learn new tasks as assigned required
· Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) preferred to ensure clear communication with a diverse customer base
