Overview

Working Site Superintendent Jobs in Milton, DE at Wilhelm Site Services

We’re Growing

Wilhelm Site Services is a younger, hungry company that invested heavily over the winter and is landing some good-sized projects. The work is coming in.

Now we need the right person on the ground to run it.

This is a traveling position. Many of our projects are several hours from home — we travel out for the week. We’re also pursuing local projects, and those are always nice when we land them, but you should be ready to be on the road.

We’re looking for a Working Site Superintendent — the boots-on-the-ground leader for our projects. We have a project manager who brings the work in and gets it to this point, and a production manager helping with other details along the way. What we need is the person on-site keeping the ball rolling it.

You’ll be taking the job from mobilization to closeout in most cases, and that includes:

  • Plan Reading — Not surface-level. You need to understand a full plan set — the layers, the layout, what’s going on, and what questions it raises. If you can’t pick up a set of plans and walk me through what you’re looking at, this isn’t the right fit.
  • Layout & Surveying — Setting layout points, working a transit, and coordinating with surveyors. GPS experience is a strong plus.
  • Grading — Setting grade, cuts and fills, compaction, and setting the pace for the crew on all of it. You need to own this.
  • Pipe Work — Laying pipe, understanding bedding, inverts, and proper installation. No shortcuts.
  • Running Equipment — This is a working superintendent role. You need to know how to run equipment, but on our larger-scale projects you’ll have a crew under you and the priority is keeping the job moving forward.
  • Project Management & Communication — Reading plans daily, keeping GPS equipment working when it’s on-site, coordinating with GCs, subs, and inspections, keeping paperwork and reports moving, and setting the pace for the entire site. We take a holistic approach at WSS — everything needs to make sense for everybody at the table. Keeping the administrative side moving forward with a good attitude is part of this role, not an afterthought.
  • Crew Leadership — You’ll be managing people, not just equipment. We need someone who can lead a crew, run an efficient project, and hold people accountable.

What We Bring to the Table

  • Company truck — and our superintendents who prove themselves and kill it? They pick their trucks. They pick their tools.
  • Competitive pay commensurate with experience
  • Tremendous opportunity to grow with a company that’s on the way up
  • We’re building a long-term team here. This isn’t a revolving door — we want people who are going to be around for a while and help us build something.

If This Describes You

Reach out. But in your application, tell me why this fits you — don’t just send a generic resume into the pile.

We’re a hustling company. We get after it every single day. If you do too, there’s a serious opportunity here.
