Working Foreperson Jobs in Dartmouth at Dora Construction Limited
DORA Construction is seeking an experienced and motivated Working Foreperson to lead field crews while actively performing hands-on construction work. This role is responsible for supervising daily jobsite operations, maintaining productivity and safety standards, and ensuring high-quality craftsmanship in alignment with DORA’s commitment to excellence.
The Working Foreperson serves as a key link between the field and project leadership, supporting successful project delivery through strong communication, leadership, and technical skill.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and work alongside assigned field crews in daily construction activities
- Coordinate tasks, manpower, and materials to meet schedule requirements
- Ensure work is completed according to plans, specifications, and company standards
- Maintain a safe and organized jobsite, enforcing all OSHA and DORA safety policies
- Communicate effectively with the Superintendent, Project Manager, subcontractors, and vendors
- Assist with training and mentoring crew members to support development and performance
- Track daily progress and report field updates, issues, or needs to leadership
- Identify and resolve jobsite challenges proactively
- Maintain tools, equipment, and jobsite resources responsibly
Qualifications
- Minimum 8 years of construction experience, with leadership or foreperson experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of commercial construction methods and jobsite coordination
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and project documents
- Proven ability to lead crews, maintain morale, and drive productivity
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver’s license and reliable work history
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to stand, bend, climb, and perform physical labor throughout the workday
