Scope of the position:
The Wire Cutter/ Warehouse Associate is responsible for cutting, packing, and shipping wire and cable spools promptly while adhering to safety standards. A primary function of this role is to spool and cut wire and cable of various sizes and weights. The associate will also be responsible for picking, packing, wrapping, and labeling products in an efficient manner. They are responsible for the loading and unloading of regular shipments, which includes heavy lifting up to and including 50 lbs., and the use of any material handling equipment.
Responsibilities:
Wrap, tie, and place material on reels
Sort and place materials on racks
Use and adjust machinery to measure lengths of wire to meet customer specifications
Feed and thread wire and cable through machinery
Complete pre-start safety inspection before using any machinery or equipment
Record count and length information on tags or boxes
Works independently to manually pick orders accurately and in a timely manner
Accurately counts and put inventory back into stock
Counting, packing, wrapping and labeling products onto skids.
Loading and unloading trucks
Makes sure that incoming and outgoing products and material are in good condition
Reliably works as a team to ensure warehouse cleanliness
Responsible for carrying out any other duties assigned by management
Skills and Qualifications:
1-3 years experience working in a warehouse environment
Perform basic mathematical calculations to complete assigned tasks
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Wire Cutting experience is considered an asset
