Compensation & Benefits
Competitive total compensation package including a base salary of $64,000 – $80,000 and a bonus potential of up to 10% of base pay. Opportunity
Reporting to the General Manager, the Wellness Coordinator will ensure effective use of Amica’s wellness assessment and documentation systems, support the Director of Wellness and Neighborhood Coordinator in day‑to‑day operations, and lead wellness initiatives within assigned neighborhoods to meet Amica’s standards.
Key Duties
- Develop and facilitate programs for residents in Assisted and Memory Care neighborhoods, ensuring compliance with legislative guidelines.
- Organize, facilitate and track in‑service and continuing education programs for Team Members.
- Manage Resident Care Partners to ensure resident care, monitoring and appropriate interaction.
- Build strong relationships with residents and their families.
- Act as a member of the multi‑disciplinary management team, collaborating with Wellness, Nursing and other department heads to complete assessments, update plans and promote resource accessibility.
- Ensure the integrity, accuracy and timely completion of resident records, reports and assessments.
- Maintain and enhance Amica’s culture and values in all interactions.
- Provide clinical support to daily nursing operations in the absence of the Director of Wellness.
- Deliver Care Stream and Yardi best‑practice training, oversee application of knowledge and evaluate outcomes.
- Apply technical skills, conduct routine audits and ensure documentation meets company standards.
- Communicate documentation gaps to teams and provide re‑education to Personal Support Workers and Wellness Nurses.
Wellness Audits
- Assist the Director of Wellness with departmental audit preparation and analysis.
- Provide recommendations and execute action plans to address audit findings.
Education
- Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) from a recognized program with current credentialing from the College of Nurses of Ontario.
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years experience as an RPN.
Knowledge
- Understanding of seniors’ care, aging, dementia and diversity.
- Healthcare and memory‑care issues.
- Legislative regulations and policies related to retirement care.
- Mobility changes in seniors and use of mechanical lifting devices.
- Comprehensive knowledge of health and safety legislation and appropriate actions to protect staff well‑being.
Competencies, Skills & Abilities
- Ability to influence, organize, schedule and motivate a team.
- Strong oral, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook and electronic care systems.
- Effective problem‑solving skills, ability to resolve sensitive issues.
- Experience with quality improvement processes and tools (asset).
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of resident information.
- Strong assessment and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Flexibility to work in varied environments, including weekend and holiday coverage.
