THE OPPORTUNITY
We are looking for a skilled and physically capable Well Pump Installer & Service Technician to join our field crew. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, servicing, and troubleshooting of submersible pump systems in drilled water wells. You will work directly at job sites, often outdoors or in confined environments, and will play a key role in delivering quality water systems to our clients.
This is a hands-on, physical role that requires comfort working in tight spaces, and with both plumbing and basic electrical systems. A background in plumbing is the primary asset for this position.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Install submersible pumps, drop pipes, and pump assemblies in drilled wells
- Work in confined spaces around wellheads and pump pits
- Install and connect pitless adapters, pressure tanks, check valves, and water lines
- Perform basic electrical connections for pump systems (variable speed drive, control box, pressure switch, 240V wiring)
- Service, diagnose, and repair existing pump and water system installations
- Operate pump hoists and field equipment safely and efficiently
- Maintain and care for company tools, equipment, and vehicles
- Follow all health, safety, and confined space protocols on every job site
- Communicate professionally with clients and represent Eastern Well Drillers with pride
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Background in plumbing, pipefitting, or a related trade — required
- Comfortable with basic 240V electrical work (pump wiring, pressure switches, control boxes)
- Physically fit and able to perform heavy lifting and work in confined spaces
- Comfortable working outdoors year-round in all weather conditions
- Valid driver’s license (Class 5 minimum; Class 3 or higher is a strong asset)
- Reliable, punctual, and able to commit to 50–60 hours/week
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Confined space entry awareness or certification is an asset
- Welding experience would be an asset
- Prior experience with well pumps or water systems is a strong asset
- Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Hourly Wage
- $20–$30/hr
Overtime Pay
- 1.5× rate after standard hours

- 6% vacation pay

- 5 days/week, 50–60 hrs — year-round
