Welder/Fitter Jobs in Calgary at TAP SERVICES
Tap Services Inc. is seeking an experienced Welder/Fitter Contractor to support our growing fabrication team. This position is ideal for a highly skilled tradesperson who takes pride in quality workmanship, can work independently, and has extensive experience with by-hand welding and precision fitting.
This is a contractor position only. Applicants must operate as an independent contractor and maintain active WCB coverage.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Perform high-quality by-hand welding on a variety of fabrication projects and materials
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and fabrication specifications
- Complete precision fit-up, fabrication, and assembly work
- Ensure all work meets quality, safety, and workmanship standards
- Work closely with project managers and shop personnel to meet project deadlines
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
- Troubleshoot fabrication challenges and provide practical solutions
What We’re Looking For
- Journeyman Welder or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5+ years of welding experience
- Demonstrated experience performing by-hand welding
- Valid B Pressure Certification required (strong pipe welding experience may be considered)
- 3–5 years of fitting experience is considered a strong asset
- Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and blueprints
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Reliable, safety-conscious, and professional
Contractor Requirements
To be considered for this opportunity, applicants must:
- Be willing to work as an independent contractor
- Provide proof of active WCB coverage
- Supply their own standard personal tools as required
