We currently have an opening for an ambitious Fabricator/Welder, in our Edmonton branch. This full-time position offers tremendous growth opportunities, including diverse projects, supported career development, and potential for advancement.
As a Fabricator/Welder, you will be responsible to:
- Safely operate various power tools including, MIG welders, saws, presses, and punching equipment;
- Perform light gauge metal welding and have a practical understanding of metal door frames and their uses;
- Utilize a flat welding position with occasional up-hand;
- Maintain a safe work environment and adhere to workplace policies;
- Provide exceptional customer service and work collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Welding of metal frames/windows, normally 16 gauge metal, with some 14 gauge.
- Cutting out and installing window kits in metal doors, normally 18 gauge metal, with some 16, and 20 gauge
- Minor fabrication, to both frames, and doors, including cutting in, prepping, and welding, various locks, strikes, and other accessories.
- Performing daily, and monthly, hazard, tool, and other inspections, throughout the shop, warehouse, and branch.
Your Experience:
- Ideally, you bring 1-2+ years of general welding experience or applied trades training;
- Experience operating a forklift or reach truck is considered an asset;
- Experience with hollow metal fabrication or a strong mechanical background is considered an asset.
