As a forklift operator material handler, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently handling materials and products within the warehouse or facility of the company.
You will
utilize lifting equipment such as forklifts to move, load, unload, and store goods in various work environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Operation of Handling Equipment: Safely and effectively use forklifts, electric pallet jacks, or other handling equipment to move materials and products within the warehouse or site.
Loading and Unloading: Load and unload goods from trucks, containers, or other vehicles following safety procedures and ensuring proper handling of products.
Storage: Place materials and products in designated warehouse locations, considering specific storage requirements and ensuring optimal space organization.
Inventory Control: Conduct cycle counts, participate in physical inventories, and maintain accurate records of stock movements to ensure inventory levels’ accuracy.
Adherence to Safety Standards: Adhere to and promote current safety procedures, including the use of handling equipment, handling of loads, and traffic flow within the warehouse.
Equipment Maintenance
: Perform routine checks on forklifts and other handling equipment, report defects or issues, and perform minor repairs if necessary.
Collaboration
with Teams: Work closely with logistics, shipping, and receiving teams to ensure effective coordination of
material handling
operations.
Required Skills:
Forklift driving certification or equivalent experience.
Knowledge of safety standards for
material handling
.
Ability to
read and interpret order forms, picking lists, and product labels.
Ability to
work efficiently in a
dynamic environment
and meet deadlines.
Ability to
lift and move heavy loads safely and appropriately.
Additional Qualifications (Advantages):
Previous experience in
material handling
or a similar position.
Training in
safe handling
of hazardous materials.
Proficiency in warehouse management software or logistics-related computer systems.
