Position: Warehouse Transportation Manager

The Warehouse Transportation Manager oversees daily warehouse, distribution, inventory, and transportation activities to ensure the efficient flow of materials and cost‑effective, on‑time delivery of finished goods. This role is responsible for coordinating staff, optimizing logistics processes, monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs), and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. The Warehouse Transportation Manager manages shipping, receiving, fleet operations, carrier relationships, inventory flow, and transportation staff while ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements while working closely with warehouse, logistics, and customer service teams to maintain high service levels and operational efficiency.

What You’ll Do

  • Warehouse & Inventory Operations:
    Manage daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, picking, shipping, and daily transportation
  • Ensure accurate inventory levels through regular monitoring, cycle counts, and reconciliation
  • Maintain organized, safe, and efficient warehouse layouts and workflows

Transportation & Distribution

  • Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments to ensure on‑time and accurate delivery
  • Work with internal teams and external carriers to manage transportation schedules
  • Address and resolve delivery issues, delays, or discrepancies proactively
  • Supervise, schedule, and support transportation, dispatching, shipping, warehouse and logistics staff
  • Manage transportation budgets and identify cost‑saving opportunities
  • Develop and train staff on operational procedures and safety practices
  • Provide clear direction, coaching, and performance feedback
  • Foster a collaborative, safety‑focused, and accountable team environment

Process Optimization & KPIs

  • Monitor logistics KPIs such as order accuracy, on‑time delivery, transportation costs, warehouse productivity and inventory accuracy
  • Identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service levels and reduce costs
  • Maintain accurate transportation and inventory records using WMS and TMS systems
  • Investigate shipping issues and implement corrective actions

Safety, Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, health and safety, food safety, and quality standards
  • Enforce safe work practices and proper equipment use
  • Support audits, inspections, and corrective actions as required

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Production, Sales, Quality, and Finance teams to support operational goals
  • Collaborate with purchasing, operations, and customer service teams to improve supply chain performance
  • Communicate priorities, constraints, and risks clearly to leadership

What We’re Looking For

Education & Experience

  • Post‑secondary education in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Operations, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3–5 years of experience in warehouse, logistics, or transportation operations
  • Prior supervisory or team‑lead experience required
  • Experience in a manufacturing or food‑processing environment is an asset
