Responsibilities
- Supervise daily warehouse activities including shipping, receiving, and materials handling to ensure timely order fulfillment.
- Manage inventory levels using warehouse management systems (WMS) and oversee inventory control procedures to maintain accuracy.
- Coordinate warehouse distribution efforts, optimizing storage layouts and workflow processes for efficiency.
- Lead and develop warehouse staff, fostering a team-oriented environment focused on safety, quality, and productivity.
- Implement process improvements related to logistics operations, including 3PL (third-party logistics) partnerships and internal workflows.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards and conduct regular safety training sessions for team members.
- Oversee the operation of forklifts and other mechanical equipment, ensuring proper usage and maintenance.
- Monitor shipping & receiving activities, verifying accuracy of shipments against documentation such as AS400 systems.
- Collaborate with procurement and logistics teams to streamline supply chain processes and reduce lead times.
- Maintain detailed records of inventory movements, damages, and discrepancies for audit readiness.
Requirements
- Proven experience in warehouse supervision or management within a fast-paced distribution or e-commerce environment.
- Strong knowledge of inventory management principles, warehouse distribution strategies, and logistics operations.
- Hands-on experience with warehouse management systems (WMS), AS400 or similar platforms.
- Mechanical knowledge related to materials handling equipment such as forklifts.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations and best practices for warehouse safety.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams effectively while managing multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in shipping & receiving procedures, heavy lifting protocols, and materials handling techniques.
- Experience working with 3PL providers and implementing process improvements for operational efficiency.
- Knowledge of inventory control methods including cycle counting and stock reconciliation.
- Ability to adapt quickly to evolving technology platforms like Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and OS400.
