J.R. Mahoney Ltd. has an immediate opening for a Warehouse Associate. This person will be responsible for all aspects of shipping/receiving product as well as inventory and site maintenance.
This position is based at our Sydney River, NS retail location. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Occasional overtime may be required.
Key Responsibilities:
Receiving shipments and ensuring they are correct.
Unloading trucks.
Shelving and organizing product.
Performing shipping functions, pulling correct product for customer orders, packing and wrapping product.
Producing waybills and loading products to shipping trucks.
Deliver and place products at customer locations. May require heavy lifting and overnight travel.
Completing stock checks and participating in inventory counts.
Maintain MSDS for product.
Safety program participation.
Building and yard janitorial tasks.
Keyholder duties – opening and closing shop and yard.
Basic Qualifications:
High school or equivalent diploma, plus relevant warehouse experience.
Valid Forklift licence required or willingness to obtain.
Valid Nova Scotia driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Current WHMIS and First Aid training.
Knowledge and use of safe material handling techniques and practices.
Physically able to lift and carry 70 lbs
Effective verbal and written communication skills (English).
Proficiency in working with numbers and attention to detail.
Proficiency in computer use.
Proven high level of energy, accuracy, productivity and effectiveness.
Demonstrated ability to work independently without supervision.
Bondable and able to clear background checks.
Working Conditions:
· Eligible to work in Canada.
· Safety shoes required.
· Frequent exposure to elements (yard work) when loading and unloading trucks.
· Noise from transport and forklift trucks.

Pay: $16.00-$18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
