Help make a difference as a Volunteer Responder in our Pancreatic Cancer Helpline. Connect with patients and families, providing critical information and emotional support across Newfoundland and Labrador.

This non-clinical role focuses on listening and guiding individuals through their journey with pancreatic cancer. You’ll ensure callers receive accurate resources and feel less isolated by answering questions and offering a compassionate ear. Regular commitment and participation in training sessions are essential to provide effective support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Respond to calls and voicemails promptly

• Conduct warm intakes while documenting calls

• Supply information on cancer treatments and supports

• Email resource packages to veterans post-conversation

• Partake in monthly virtual check-ins and debriefs

Requirements:

• Passion for supporting individuals during challenges

• Experience in counseling, social work, or healthcare encouraged

• Background in health sciences or supportive fields appreciated

• Lived experience in pancreatic cancer advocacy welcomed

• Complete mandatory 38-hour training sessions
