Vice President Product Engineering Jobs in Oakville, Ontario, Canada at Novamera Inc.
Title: Vice President Product Engineering
Company: Novamera Inc.
Location: Oakville, Ontario, Canada
ABOUT NOVAMERA
Novamera is a well-funded, VC-backed technology company commercializing a breakthrough platform for the precise extraction of high-value mineral deposits. Our Surgical Mining™ system — combining proprietary hardware, downhole imaging, and AI/ML software — enables mining operators to pinpoint, map, navigate, and extract narrow-vein deposits that have historically been too complex or uneconomic to mine with conventional methods.
Our technology integrates with standard drilling equipment, dramatically reducing the capital footprint of bringing a deposit into production. Compared to conventional underground mining, surgical mining costs a fraction of the development capital, generates up to 95% less waste, and cuts GHG emissions by 44% — unlocking critical metal and mineral supply in a commercially viable, environmentally responsible way.
The market opportunity is enormous: trillions of dollars' worth of small, narrow deposits globally sit stranded because conventional mining simply cannot address them economically. Novamera has validated its technology through multiple field deployments and is now converting that momentum into revenue — with signed commercial contracts, a growing pipeline of active projects, and a clear path toward long-term surgical mining engagements. This is an exciting moment to join: we're past proof-of-concept and closing deals.

THE OPPORTUNITY
Novamera is at an inflection point. The company has proven its technology in the field, is building commercial momentum, and is now investing in the leadership and product infrastructure to scale. The Vice President of Product Engineering is a critical hire — the person who will shape how Novamera's hardware and software platform evolves from early-commercial into a reliable, market-leading product suite.
This is a rare opportunity to join a company with genuine technological differentiation, a clear path to a large market, and the backing to execute — at a stage where a VP of Product Engineering can have an outsized and lasting impact on the company's trajectory.
POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the CTO, the Vice President of Product Engineering will own the strategic vision and end-to-end execution of Novamera's product development program. The role spans hardware and software: from high-reliability downhole tools operating in demanding environments to the data pipelines, AI/ML models, and software interfaces that transform raw sensor data into actionable intelligence for mine operators.
The ideal candidate brings deep domain expertise in rugged hardware development and software product management, a track record of building and scaling multidisciplinary teams, and the commercial instinct to translate market feedback into roadmap decisions. Experience in mining, oil and gas, or other industrial applications is a meaningful advantage.
