This permanent, full-time position operates overnight hours, focusing on assisting those experiencing homelessness and other crisis situations. You’ll utilize harm reduction principles to meet immediate needs for food, shelter, and medical care, while fostering dignity and respect among marginalized community members. Collaboration with emergency responders and community agencies is key to this critical role.
Key Responsibilities:
• Meet immediate needs with food, clothing, and hygiene supplies
• Drive and operate MSP’s Outreach Vans for community transport
• Respond to emergency situations with assessment and intervention
• Conduct wellness checks and support individuals in encampments
• Maintain accurate records of client interactions and statistics
Requirements:
• Experience in human services or outreach roles
• Knowledge of addictions, mental health, and harm reduction
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Valid Class 5 driver’s licence and CPR certifications
• Ability to handle physical and emotional demands of the role
