Role
Summary:
The UI Designer translates UX strategy into high-fidelity, responsive designs for Employee Center. This role ensures visual consistency, accessibility, and alignment with Service Now’s design system while supporting development handoff.
Primary Objectives
• Deliver visually polished, responsive designs that align with UX strategy and Service Now design standards.
• Ensure accessibility compliance and brand consistency across all UI components.
• Provide clear specifications and assets for development handoff.
• Support iterative design QA during build and UAT phases.
Key Responsibilities
• Create high-fidelity mockups and prototypes for core Employee Center pages.
• Map legacy widgets to modern components and propose redesigns.
• Design responsive layouts for desktop and mobile within UI Builder constraints.
• Prepare theme assets and tokens for branding in Theme Builder.
• Provide component specs and redlines for developers.
• Conduct design QA and accessibility checks during implementation.
Required Skills & Experience
• – years in UI design for enterprise applications.
• Strong visual design skills (typography, color, layout).
• Experience working within design systems and responsive frameworks.
• Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG).
• Ability to collaborate closely with developers and UX strategists.
Tools
• Figma for design and prototyping.
• Service Now UI Builder and Theme Builder familiarity.
• Accessibility tools (axe, Lighthouse).
• Jira/Confluence for design documentation and tracking.
Nice to Have
• Experience with Service Now Employee Center and Next Experience components.
• Familiarity with Storybook and component handoff workflows.
• Ability to write microcopy and contribute to content standards.
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, HCI, or related field. Equivalent experience considered.
