Truck Driver – Class 1 Jobs in Calgary at SALCO Hauling Ltd
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Truck Driver to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will safely operate commercial trucks to deliver freight efficiently across designated routes. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, punctuality, and excellent driving skills. Preference will be given to candidates residing in Edmonton, Alberta.Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks to transport freight to various destinations according to schedule
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and regulatory compliance
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and driver logs in accordance with company policies
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and clients regarding schedules and any issues
- Perform basic troubleshooting and minor repairs when necessary to ensure vehicle readiness
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies at all times
Qualifications
- Valid Class 1 Driver’s Licence (Alberta)
- Minimum 3 years of commercial driving experience
- Experience operating Super B and Step Deck trailers is required
- Strong knowledge of transportation safety procedures and traffic regulations
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Physically capable of loading/unloading freight and operating equipment when required
