Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Truck Dispatcher to coordinate and manage freight transportation operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for scheduling, tracking, and communicating with drivers and clients to ensure timely delivery of shipments. This role requires strong communication skills, proficiency with transportation management systems, and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The Truck Dispatcher plays a vital role in optimizing supply chain operations and maintaining excellent customer service standards.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily dispatch activities for freight shipments, ensuring efficient routing and scheduling of trucks.
- Utilize transportation management systems such as SyteLine and AS400 to input data, track shipments, and generate reports.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, clients, and warehouse staff via multi-line phone systems, maintaining professional phone etiquette.
- Manage shipping & receiving documentation, ensuring accuracy in data entry and compliance with company policies.
- Analyze freight data to identify opportunities for operational improvements and cost savings.
- Monitor shipment status, troubleshoot issues proactively, and provide timely updates to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the supply chain team to optimize load planning and delivery schedules.
- Maintain organized records of dispatch activities, shipment details, and communication logs for audit purposes.
Requirements
- Proven experience with transportation management systems such as Truckmate, or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of supply chain logistics, freight operations, and 3PL services.
- Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy and attention to detail.
- Analytical skills to interpret shipment data and generate actionable insights.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with professional phone etiquette.
- Proficiency in typing and managing multi-line phone systems efficiently.
- Knowledge of shipping & receiving procedures and documentation requirements.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.
- Prior experience in freight coordination or transportation management is preferred but not mandatory. Pay: $60,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
