Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Tree Trimmer/Groundsperson and play a vital role in maintaining healthy, beautiful landscapes! This energetic position offers the opportunity to work outdoors, utilizing your skills in tree care, landscape maintenance, and horticulture to enhance urban and suburban environments. You will support arborists and landscape professionals by performing essential ground-based tasks and assisting with tree trimming, pruning, and plant care. This role is perfect for motivated individuals eager to develop their expertise in arboriculture and landscape management while contributing to community beautification.
Duties
- Assist with tree trimming, pruning, and removal using proper techniques to promote healthy growth and safety.
- Operate equipment such as bucket trucks, chainsaws, and other power tools safely and efficiently.
- Support rigging operations for lifting and positioning large tree sections or landscape features.
- Conduct landscape maintenance tasks including lawn care, planting, mulching, and general site cleanup.
- Use GIS (Geographic Information Systems) tools to assist with mapping and site planning when necessary.
- Perform plant care activities such as watering, fertilizing, and monitoring tree health based on dendrology (the study of trees).
- Maintain safety standards by inspecting equipment, wearing protective gear, and following all safety protocols during operations.
Qualifications
- Prior experience or growing interest in tree care, horticulture, or landscaping is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of tree trimming techniques, plant pruning care, and landscape maintenance practices.
- Ability to operate bucket trucks safely for elevated work tasks.
- Familiarity with rigging procedures for lifting heavy materials or tree sections.
- Basic understanding of GIS applications related to land management or landscaping projects is a plus.
- Strong physical stamina for outdoor work in various weather conditions; ability to stand, walk, lift heavy objects, and perform manual labor effectively.
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record; certification in chainsaw operation preferred but not required.
