Job description
Northland Farms, a wholesale nursery located in West Olive, Michigan, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Tree Care Specialist with strong management skills to oversee plant health, production, and shipping operations at our main office facility.
This role is responsible for managing our pot-in-pot tree farm, supervising pulling crews, and participating in all operational decisions related to the office farm facility. The ideal candidate is organized, passionate about horticulture, demonstrates strong leadership abilities, and works effectively in a team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all inventory, potting, production, cultural practices, and shipping operations for our pot-in-pot tree farm consisting of 10- and 20-gallon ornamental horticultural trees
- Supervise all pulling crews responsible for shipping shrubs, evergreens, and trees
- Monitor the health and growth of flowering trees, ornamental trees, and shade trees
- Lead and support employees in completing required daily tasks
- Monitor and adjust inventory levels daily as needed
- Assist in operational planning and decision-making for the office farm facility
Requirements
- Multiple years of nursery grower experience
- Proficiency with inventory management software and related technology
- Private Pesticide Applicator License (Preferred)
- Valid driver’s license
- Knowledge of tractors, wheel loaders, and other farm equipment
- Willingness to work in all weather conditions and accommodate seasonal fluctuations in hours
- Spanish fluency is a plus but not required

Pay: $22.00 – $26.00 per hour
