Fieldstone Organics is looking to recruit and train a full time mill operator for our organic grain cleaning facility, located in rural Armstrong, BC.
The position is permanent full time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Job Position Objective: Responsible for the handling, cleaning and separating of all organic cereals, seeds and legumes, using a variety of equipment and machinery. Working as part of a team to ensure quality and safety.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Set up and prepare multiple pieces of equipment, for specific crops and requirements.
· Operate, monitor and adjust multiple pieces of equipment throughout the production line, to provide maximum quality and efficiency during crop cleaning.
· Observe and monitor all equipment and augers during production runs, ensuring product and waste flow.
· Working closely with quality control personnel, providing regular samples and updates on any abnormalities or issues.
· Cleaning and purging of all mill equipment using forced air and manual tools, during and in between each production run.
· Working closely with mill maintenance personnel to ensure that all equipment is regularly serviced and in good working, safe condition.
· Completing reports and logs to comply with food, health and safety requirements.
· Transport finished products throughout facility using high reach forklift.
· Work as part of the team in packaging finished products into 10kg and 20kg bulk bags.
· Work as part of the team in the loading and unloading of crops, trucks and grain bins.
· Seasonal overtime is occasionally required
Qualifications:
· Industrial mechanic qualification would be an asset, but not essential.
· Forklift experience is required – certification preferred
· Training in any of the following areas will be viewed as an asset: – Food Safety, Health and Safety, Fall Arrest, Confined Space, First Aid.

· Physically able to work on foot for 8 hours per day
· Physically able to lift 50lbs repeatedly on a regular basis
– Comfortable working at heights
· Physically able to tolerate working in variable, year round seasonal outside temperatures.
· Physically able to tolerate working in a noisy, dusty environment.
– Must work with WSBC regulations and in-house policies (i.e. dust mask, hearing protection etc)
