We are looking for a motivated individual to fill the position ofTechnology Development Directorin ourCarbon Engineeringgroup based inSquamish, B.C., Canada.The Technology Development Director will lead a multidisciplinary team and be responsible for a cost down effort using new and advanced technologies and innovations in 1PointFive’s direct air capture technology and/or our technology equity investment partners, under the general direction of the Vice President of Technology & Application – Low Carbon Ventures.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Provide exceptional leadership to a high-performing team to accomplish corporate objectives and LCV critical milestones

Critically evaluate and prioritize the technical and economic feasibility of integrating CCUS and lithium technologies and concepts that may fit into the LCV short and long-term strategies

Network in the scientific community to identify novel yet practical CCUS and lithium concepts, technologies, or products

Support LCV by directly innovating with our equity investments and JV partners to accelerate their development to commerciality

Identify talent with capabilities and expertise to enhance and expand the LCV technology team including laboratories

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering or associated field

Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering a plus

Ability to work in Canada a must

Ability to travel to US is a requirement

Experience:

The ideal candidate will have at a minimum of 5 years of laboratory, pilot, technology development, or related experience plus an additional minimum of 10 years of manufacturing experience that includes supervision of operating technicians through corporate executive leadership, all in the chemical industry

A minimum of 5 years of technical management experience leading high-performing engineers, scientists, and/or a laboratory

Experience in new technology development, applying data to contemplate new theories and approaches, and using innovation to drive costs down to commercial success

Demonstrated ability to identify new approaches to solve existing problems
