Position Summary

As a Technician – Mobile Tech Integration within our ITS VCOM and Support Services department, you will be responsible for the installation, removal, repair and refurbishing of information technology solutions, communications and various electronic equipment within Peel Regional Police vehicles.
Responsibilities
What will your typical day look like?
Installs and removes information technology solutions within various Peel Regional Police vehicles including, (mobile data units, (MDUs)/Laptops) and associated peripherals, (Digital Video Recording Equipment, Card Readers, Hubs, Modems, Printers, Keyboards and Monitors).
Installs and removes communications solutions within various Peel Regional Police vehicles, including Mobile Antennas, Intercom Systems, and Cellular hands-free kits.
Installs and removes standard and custom electronic solutions within various Peel Regional Police vehicles, including emergency warning devices, audible warning devices and other emergency related solutions, e.g. lights and sirens, rumbler and canine bail out systems.
Installs, supports and decommissions custom solutions for surveillance and covert equipment when required.
Performs basic repairs and refurbishes all equipment installed, ensuring the equipment meets organization and industry standards for both communications and emergency warning devices.
Develops, integrates and implements modifications to lighting, ignition and electrical systems on fleet vehicles to facilitate running light override, emergency lighting and vehicle continuous run systems.
Provides support to the Technician-Senior Support and assists the Technician-Systems with troubleshooting and resolution of issues related to installed equipment.
Modifies and fabricates parts, brackets, etc., necessary to adapt equipment to vehicles.
Utilizes third party programs, e.g. all data with schematic drawings as it pertains to vehicle specific wiring.
Updates the Inventory Management System, creates and maintains appropriate documentation to support equipment installation and decommissioning.
Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications
You are someone with:
An Electronic Technician Certificate; Automotive Electronic Accessory Technician Certification preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
