Overview:
We are looking for a seasoned Senior Software Technical Writer with expertise in security compliance documentation, including NIST and FedRAMP standards. This role requires over 5 years of experience in technical writing within the software industry, particularly focusing on creating documents that adhere to strict security compliance standards. The ideal candidate should be adept at working quickly and efficiently, and possess the ability to lead and mentor a team of junior technical writers.
Key Responsibilities:
Swiftly develop and maintain technical documentation related to software security, including user guides, API documentation, and internal process documents.
Develop and maintain technical documentation in line with NIST, FedRAMP, and other security compliance frameworks.
Lead and guide a team of junior technical writers in producing high-quality, compliance-focused documentation.
Collaborate with software development and security teams to understand product specifications and security requirements.
Translate complex technical and security concepts into clear, compliant, and user-friendly language for various audiences.
Ensure timely updates of documentation in accordance with software releases, security updates, and changes in compliance regulations.
Work with
quality assurance
and compliance teams to ensure all documentation aligns with industry standards and regulations.
Manage multiple documentation projects simultaneously, maintaining a focus on detail and accuracy under tight deadlines.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Technical Writing, Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in software technical writing, with a strong emphasis on security compliance documentation.
Very strong preference for experience writing NIST-compliant and FedRAMP compliance documents. Familiarity with other security compliance standards (e.g., ISO 27001, HIPAA) is highly beneficial.
Proven ability in leading and mentoring a team of technical writers.
Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical and security concepts clearly.
