Contract Details:

  • Position Type: Contract
  • Contract Duration: 18 months
  • Start: As Soon As Possible
  • Pay Rate: C$38–C$50 / Hour

  • Shift / Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM or 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM — candidates need to be flexible to work either shift times. Rotation required.

Job Summary:

This role is to support Payments applications with a heavy focus on documentation, assessment, and investigation of issues. The position provides technical expertise in the development and support of activities, processes, procedures and tools for protecting information security with a focus on application security. The role involves planning, coordinating, and supervising complex informatics assignments; designing and applying new methods and procedures. Responsibilities include solving business problems by providing detailed technical advice, coordinating and monitoring technical systems inquiries, liaising with vendors and service suppliers, and supporting solutions with service providers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership for the provision of technical expertise in the development and support of activities, processes, procedures, and tools for protecting information security with a focus on application security
  • Plan, coordinate and supervise complex informatics assignments
  • Design and apply new methods and procedures
  • Solve business problems by providing detailed technical advice
  • Coordinate, lead and monitor technical systems inquiries
  • Liaise with vendors and service suppliers
  • Support and lead solutions with service providers
  • Assess and investigate issues related to payment applications
  • Certify satisfactory contract performance for systems development

Education Requirements:

  • IT background with post-secondary education required

Required Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of overall IT experience
  • Strong experience with UNIX
  • Experience with Windows
  • Documentation experience
  • Technical Support experience in a relevant role

Nice-to-Have Experience:

  • Mainframe experience — would be an advantage
  • SWIFT payment experience and environment — would be an advantage
  • Development background (strong preference) — helpful to understand how application works (JAVA, Oracle, SQL)
  • Banking relevant experience

Required Skills:

  • UNIX — strong experience
  • Windows
  • Documentation
  • Technical support in a relevant role
  • SQL knowledge essential for Payments applications

Preferred Skills:

  • Mainframe application knowledge
  • Dynatrace monitoring tools
  • JAVA development background
  • Oracle database knowledge
  • SWIFT environment experience and payments
  • Understanding of using AI tools for support would be helpful
  • Unix cert would be a nice-to-have

Additional Skills:

  • Team leadership experience
  • IT expertise in systems programming or network management
