SCHUNK is looking for a Technical Sales Representative – Automation, to support customers in identifying the right automation solutions for their applications. This role involves working closely with customers, distributors, and internal teams to understand technical requirements, propose solutions, and ensure successful implementation. We have a large portfolio and a preference for a candidate with a technical background in Automation, Mechatronic, or Robotics related diplomas/degrees or work experience in the automation industry.
Responsibilities
- Identifies customer applications and programs that present an opportunity for sales.
- Proposes solutions to these customers to achieve goals and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain customer contact and information in the CRM database.
- Travels throughout assigned territory to call on regular or prospective customers to create new business.
- Demonstrates products and emphasizes features products effectively.
- Quotes prices, credit terms and prepare quotes for orders. Review quotes and follows up to meet or exceed quote-hit-rate goal.
- Prepares business reports and expense reports.
- Coordinates customer and distributor training.
- Attends trade shows.
Qualifications:
- Experience working in the industrial market
- Highly motivated with strong organizational skills
- Disciplined self-starter with ability to multi-task
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to meet sales goals and overcome potential rejection inherent to sales environment
Education and/or Experience:
- Automation, Mechatronic, or Robotics related diplomas/degrees. or two to four years outside sales experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience in the automation industry.
