Technical Purchasing Specialist

We are seeking an enthusiastic, career-minded professional tojoin our team. The ideal Technical Purchasing Specialist will be a detailed oriented, possessing the ability to work in a teamed environment scoping and creating technical quotes and proposals This position will be responsible for focusing on providing proactive follow-up , and product information. Must have good IT knowledge to support procurement ( purchasing software and hardware).

Position Requirements:

Previous work experience in the IT industry in a technical or technical sales role

Understanding and working knowledge of networking, IT s ecurity , server components and end user computing

Excellent verbal/ writtencommunication skillsare required .

Ability to effectively present technical information in a well presented easily understandable format .

Gathering information from clients , managers, sales , and other staff to create appropriate solutions .

Facilitate and answer questions related to proposed technical solutions and/or products.

Strongattention to detail.

Excellent t ime management skills .

Decision making andproblem-solving skills

Must have extensive e xperience managing client relationships, including promptcommunicationand follow-up, explanation of technical details, and demonstrating value of quoted products.

Development of vendor relationships and familiarization with how to use vendor resources such as deal registration.

Working with distribution channels to source hardware, software and other services.

Ability to self-manage tasks and deadline s.

Intermediate-level proficiency in professionalcommunication.

Responsibilities:

Creation and presentation of Quotes , pre sales materials , recommendations and other presentations to support client needs .

Continuouscommunicationwith clients throughout the sales cycle to answer questions, concerns or provide updates.

Ordering hardware, software and services from various vendors or distributors .

Monitoring backorders, warehousing,shipping and receiving.

Assist with v endor relations and continuous monitoring of vendor programs . Including training, sales minimums and other parameters

Use purchasing portal and associated integrations with other systems or departments

Manage purchasing tracking tools , monitor KPI’s and generate management information reporting.

Stay up to date with new products and feature launches .

Review and follow up on orders or specific customers’ requests to ensure an excellent customer experience.

Responding and monitoring bidding from RFQ s /RFP s .

Support the overall sales effort by providing hardware/software recommendation s and selecting appropriate products to meet customer’s needs.

Respond to a variety of inquiries in afast-paced environmentwith specific and flexible deadlines.

Ability to work beyond the typical hours of a scheduled workday to meet customer needs.

Success Factors (Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities

):

Experience working closely with teams for discovery and research to fulfill best outcomes.

Experience with quoting , margins, s ales targets and business finance concepts

Experience with Connect Wise or similar PSAs / Ticketing Systems .

T echnical knowledge and understanding of how various products impact IT infrastructure.

Understanding of IT road mapping, planning and ability to propose and integrate fresh solutions into an IT environment (ex. PC evergreen projects…
