We are seeking a Technical Business Analyst with strong domain expertise in shipping and logistics to bridge the gap between our customers, business stakeholders, and technical teams. This role combines hands-on understanding of API integrations with the ability to translate complex logistics workflows into clear requirements, while serving as a key point of contact for customers throughout the integration lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather, analyze, and document business and technical requirements from customers and internal stakeholders, translating them into clear functional specifications and user stories.
- Work closely with customers to understand their yard operations and surrounding logistics workflows (gate check-in/check-out, yard moves and spotting, dock door scheduling, appointment management, trailer tracking, and inbound/outbound coordination) and map them to platform capabilities.
- Analyze, understand, and document API integrations (REST, SOAP, webhooks), including request/response structures, authentication flows, data mapping, and error handling.
- Act as a liaison between customers and engineering teams, ensuring requirements are clearly understood and integrations are delivered to specification.
- Support customers during onboarding, integration, testing (UAT), and go-live phases, troubleshooting issues and clarifying technical questions.
- Review API documentation and assist customers in consuming and implementing APIs correctly.
- Investigate and triage integration issues by examining logs, payloads, and data flows, then coordinate resolutions with technical teams.
- Conduct gap analyses between customer needs and product functionality, and feed insights back into the product roadmap.
- Create and maintain documentation including integration guides, process flows, data mapping documents, and FAQs.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Technical Analyst, or similar role, preferably in shipping, logistics, supply chain, or transportation.
- Solid working knowledge of API integrations — able to read and interpret API documentation, understand JSON/XML payloads, and use tools like Postman.
- Strong domain knowledge of yard operations and yard management — gate check-in/check-out, trailer and asset tracking, yard moves and spotting, dock door scheduling, appointment management, dwell/detention monitoring, and yard inventory visibility.
- Working knowledge of broader shipping and logistics processes — carriers, inbound/outbound flows, ASNs, warehousing, and fulfillment.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to break down complex problems and document clear requirements.
- Excellent communication and customer-facing skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences and vice versa.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams (product, engineering, QA, support).
