Teacher – ABA Therapy-Education Program

Position Overview
Luminary Academy is seeking a dedicated and structured Teacher to lead a classroom within our ABA therapy–education program. This role is responsible for delivering meaningful, individualized instruction to students with diverse learning needs, including autism and other exceptionalities. Our teachers balance academic instruction, behavior support, and life skills development to ensure students are making real progress in a supportive and structured environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver standards-aligned instruction in reading, writing, math, and functional academics
- Differentiate instruction to meet individual learning needs and ability levels
- Implement and monitor IEPs, 504 plans, and behavior intervention plans (BIPs)
- Use ABA-informed strategies to support engagement, behavior, and skill acquisition
- Maintain a structured, well-managed classroom environment
- Collaborate with RBTs, BCBAs, and instructional assistants to support student success
- Assess and track student progress, behavior, and skill development
- Provide ongoing feedback to students, families, and team members
- Create and maintain lesson plans, data records, and progress reports
- Support students with social-emotional learning and daily living skills as needed
- Participate in IEP meetings, team meetings, and professional development
- Ensure compliance with all state, federal, and program requirements
Education, Training & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field OR
- Participation in a state-approved certification pathway program
- Experience working with students with autism or high needs preferred
- Experience in ABA environments strongly preferred
Certificates, Licenses & Requirements
- Valid Florida Educator’s Certificate OR
- Valid Statement of Eligibility
- Ability to obtain and maintain:
- CPR / First Aid certification
- TEACH Crisis Prevention Intervention
Preferred Qualifications
- Reading Endorsement (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience in an ESE classroom setting
- Strong background in behavior management and differentiated instruction
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong understanding of ESE programs, disabilities, and learning differences
- Ability to design and deliver engaging, structured lessons
- Skilled in data collection, progress monitoring, and instructional adjustments
- Effective communicator with students, staff, and families
- Strong organization, time management, and classroom leadership skills
- Ability to problem-solve and adapt quickly in a dynamic environment
