At Puddles Swim School, we’re proud to be Waterloo Region’s first private swim school—built with heart, purpose, and a passion for helping children succeed in and around the water. Our mission is simple: to create a safe, confidence-building, and fun environment where every child can develop lifelong swimming skills.
Please Note: We are seeking instructors who are available for consistent, year-round scheduling. This is not a seasonal or summer-only position.
As we continue to grow, we’re looking for experienced, enthusiastic, and energetic Swim Instructors who genuinely enjoy working with children and want to be part of building something special. If you bring positive energy, strong teaching skills, and a welcoming smile to the pool deck, we’d love to meet you.
Availability Requirements
Candidates must have strong availability during our operating hours:
- Tuesday: 3:15 p.m. – 8:15 p.m
- Wednesday: 2:15 – 9:00 pm
- Thursday: 3:15 p.m. – 8:15 p.m
- Friday: : 3:15 p.m. – 8:15 p.m
- Saturday: 9:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m
- Sunday: 9:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m
Mandatory Requirements
Applicants must meet all of the following qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of swim instruction experience
- Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor Certification
- Standard First Aid with CPR-C
- Strong understanding of pool safety regulations and procedures
- Confidence teaching swimmers of various ages and skill levels
- Positive, enthusiastic, and professional attitude
- Ability to obtain a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check
Key Responsibilities
Instruction
- Teach swimming skills and water safety techniques
- Deliver engaging lessons tailored to individual student needs
- Adapt instruction to support swimmer progression and confidence
Safety & Supervision
- Maintain a safe, positive, and enjoyable learning environment
- Enforce pool rules and safety procedures
- Educate swimmers and families on water safety best practices
- Ensure compliance with all facility and regulatory standards
Professional Responsibilities
- Attend all scheduled staff training sessions
- Accurately record hours worked
- Maintain current certifications at all times

- Build strong connections with swimmers and families
