Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Sushi Chef to join our vibrant culinary team. In this role, you will craft authentic and visually stunning sushi dishes, ensuring each plate meets the highest standards of quality, freshness, and presentation. Duties

  • Prepare a variety of sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes with precision and artistry
  • Maintain impeccable cleanliness and organization in the sushi preparation area in compliance with health regulations
  • Select fresh ingredients daily, including fish, vegetables, and rice, ensuring optimal quality
  • Demonstrate expert knife skills for slicing fish and vegetables efficiently and safely
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal timing and presentation standards
  • Educate team members on sushi techniques and culinary best practices
  • Assist in developing new sushi recipes and menu items to keep offerings exciting and innovative

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or similar culinary role specializing in Japanese cuisine
  • Strong knowledge of sushi preparation techniques, including rice seasoning, fish handling, and knife skills
  • Culinary experience with an emphasis on seafood safety and sanitation practices
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • Excellent classroom management skills if involved in training or mentoring junior staff
  • Experience with curriculum development or instructional planning is a plus for team training initiatives
  • Passion for culinary arts, creativity, and continuous learning in the field of sushi-making
