Supply Technician – Label (3rd Shift) Jobs in Marathon, WI at Marathon

Channeled Resources is growing and we need people who want to grow with us. Our family business started in 1978 as recyclers of specialty papers and films. Our company has evolved in the last decade and now includes 3 manufacturing divisions. While we’ve grown significantly, we have maintained the original family business work environment. If you like to work where the president’s office door is always open and individual employee growth always encouraged, you will fit right in.

As a Supply Technician in the Label Department, you are the backbone of the production floor. Your primary responsibility is to support the operators running ETI converting equipment and flexographic (flexo) presses. By proactively anticipating operator needs, staging raw materials, and managing inventory flow, you ensure that the presses run continuously and never experience downtime due to material shortages.

Key Responsibilities

  • Material Staging & Line Feeding: Proactively supply ETI and flexo press operators with necessary raw materials—including paper roll stock, adhesives, boxes, cores, and tooling—ensuring continuous, uninterrupted production runs.
  • Downtime Prevention: Continuously monitor the progress of active jobs and anticipate when a machine will need its next roll or batch of supplies.
  • Material Handling: Safely operate material handling equipment (such as forklifts, pallet jacks, roll clamps, or hoists) to transport heavy raw material rolls from the warehouse to the press area, and move finished goods to the shipping or staging areas.
  • Changeover Support: Assist press operators during job changeovers by quickly retrieving new dies, printing plates. Safely document and return unused materials to their designated warehouse storage locations.
  • Inventory & Stock Management: Track inventory levels of printing consumables on the production floor. Perform cycle counts and update the inventory management system to accurately reflect material usage and scrap.
  • Quality & Safety: Verify that all pulled materials strictly match the job ticket specifications to prevent printing errors. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment around the machines, keeping walkways clear of debris and packaging.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience: Experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or a material handling role.
  • Equipment Operation: Proven ability (or willingness to be trained) to safely operate specialized material handling equipment used for large, heavy rolls.
  • Physical Demands: This is a physically demanding role. You must have the ability to stand or walk for long periods, frequently lift up to 50 lbs, and maneuver large material rolls safely throughout the shift.
  • Pacing & Initiative: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Must be a self-starter who can independently monitor multiple machines and anticipate operator needs before being asked.
