The Great Bear project is a development-stage asset located in the renowned and prolific Red Lake mining district, and represents one of the most exciting recent gold discoveries globally. The project has excellent potential to become a top-tier deposit that could support a large, long-life mine complex. Kinross’ comprehensive exploration and development program will aim to support the vision of a quality, high-grade, open-pit mine and a longer-term, sizeable underground mine.

Job Summary

The Supply Chain Administrative Assistant will provide experienced administrative, systems, and operational coordination support across procurement, logistics, and warehousing activities at the Great Bear Site. This position will play a critical role in coordinating vendors, contractors, and be responsible for supporting daily operations relating to procurement and logistics teams on the Great Bear Site.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Update and maintain data, records, and transactions in JD Edwards, Omega
    365, and other systems to support procurement, logistics, inventory, and reporting activity.
  • Provide administrative support to procurement, logistics, warehouse, and site teams, ensuring clear communication and timely follow-up on requests, priorities, and outstanding actions.
  • Prepare purchase requisitions, support order processing activities, and track deliveries to ensure materials and services are received in accordance with operational requirements.
  • Monitor inventory levels, support stock reconciliation activities, and investigate discrepancies to help maintain accurate material records and site availability.
  • Coordinate with vendors, carriers, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely delivery – work to resolve issues, and communicate schedule changes, delays, and risks.
  • Serve as a key coordination resource for supply chain activities by facilitating information flow, tracking follow-up actions, and supporting alignment between vendors, contractors, and internal teams on priorities, schedules, and operational requirements.
  • Track, order, and report on order status, delays, discrepancies, and exceptions, taking initiative to investigate issues and escalate as required to support continuity of operations.
  • Prepare, organize, and maintain documentation, records, and system files to support audit readiness, reporting accuracy, and compliance with site procedures.
  • Assume accountability for assigned tasks and transactions, apply sound judgement in addressing routine issues, and prioritize work effectively to support continuity across procurement, logistics, and warehouse operations.
  • Support fleet, fuel system, and general site logistics administration including tracking, reporting, and follow up on operational requirements.

Qualifications and Skill Requirements

Diploma or degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline is preferred. A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in supply chain, procurement, logistics, warehousing, or related administration role is preferred.

Experience in a mining, construction, industrial, or other site-based environment is considered an asset.

  • Proficient with business systems and administrative software

    Experience with JD Edwards and Omega
    365 is considered an asset.

  • Ability to exercise sound judgement in making decisions within established procedures.
  • Capable of learning and adapting to new equipment and software.
