Compensation

The base salary for this role ranges between $67,440 – $92,730, with eligibility for an incentive target of 5% which is contingent upon achieving both individual and company performance objectives.

Primary Function

The Business Development Analyst supports supplier performance, operational effectiveness, and business growth across an assigned portfolio of suppliers. This role focuses on analyzing supplier data, monitoring performance metrics, and supporting improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, cost effectiveness, and customer value. Working closely with senior team members and cross‑functional partners, the analyst contributes insights that support informed decision‑making and effective execution of supplier strategies.

  • Collaboration with internal partners across sourcing, finance, operations, and sales.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Track, analyze, and report on supplier performance metrics, ensuring timely and actionable insights for internal stakeholders.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret supplier data (e.g., delivery times, quality scores, compliance) to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support the onboarding process for new suppliers, ensuring accurate documentation and seamless integration into relevant systems.
  • Facilitate supplier meetings, document key outcomes, and drive follow‑through on action items to ensure accountability and progress.
  • Conduct market research to proactively identify emerging trends, risks, and strategic opportunities that impact supplier performance and category growth.
  • Support the resolution of supplier‑related issues in collaboration with procurement, operations, and quality teams, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Contribute to supplier negotiation strategies, including preparation of materials, data‑driven analysis, participation in negotiation sessions, and post‑negotiation implementation of outcomes.
  • Create and deliver presentations and strategic summaries to cross‑functional stakeholders, influencing decision‑making and driving alignment.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives within supplier management processes, leveraging data and stakeholder feedback to optimize performance.
  • Manage a portfolio of operational suppliers, monitoring performance, growth, and strategic alignment.
  • Support the annual onboarding of approximately 50 suppliers, ensuring readiness to scale in partnership with merchandising, product information, sales, marketing, inventory, and supplier performance teams.

Preferred Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data visualization tools.
  • Skill in using AI as part of daily work.
  • Advanced analytics, ERP systems (e.g., SAP), and data tools such as SQL.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and take initiative in a fast‑paced environment.
