Position: Supervisor
Reports to: Plant Superintendent
Shifts: 12 hours, 7-day continental shift, includes nights and weekends
Required experience: blown film extrusion; bag making and recycling an asset
Compensation per hour: $21 to $24 depending on experience
Key Responsibilities:
Health & Safety / Housekeeping:
Ø Responsible for Health and Safety on the shift and ensure employees follow Health & Safety rules and work in a safe manner.
Ø Ensure machines and work area is in a safe condition.
Ø Responsible for the safe, controlled start-up and operation of machinery.
Ø Maintain housekeeping of work area.
Main Duties:
Ø Ensure correct material blend is running on the extruders.
Ø Start up and run extruder lines to meet production targets and high quality.
Ø Ensure finished skids are packed and wrapped properly.
Ø Follow company’s GMP and quality management system.
Ø Ensure production sheets are completed.
Ø Keep constant communication with packer when changes are made or are needed. (Example: color / gauge changes, machine adjustment, etc.)
Ø Assist packers and other operators, plus relieve packers for breaks & lunches as needed.
Ø Plan and perform in line changeovers including machinery changes as needed.
Ø Ensure recycling lines are producing good quality material
Ø Perform minor maintenance, repairs, and adjustments to correct extrusion problems.
Ø Any other reasonable request or task from your manager.
General:
Ø Practice and encourage teamwork on your shift.
Ø Treat all coworkers with respect and in a kind and courteous way.
Ø Participate in training as required by the company.
Ø Be receptive to positive feedback on your performance.
Ø Participate in cross training on other company equipment and provide training for new employees and packers.
