Summer Student – Events Assistant Jobs in Mission at Mission Hospice Society
Must be a University Student looking for work for the summer and returning to full time Studies in the Fall to qualify for this job, through Canada Summer Jobs.
Working closely with the Executive Director, and with other staff, you will assist in the coordination of our summer time events and community projects. You will also support the staff in various duties such as research development and program development.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Excellent communication skills, including writing, proof reading skills and speaking to groups
· Ability to manage multiple project and work assignments from a variety of staff and volunteers
· Excellent interpersonal skills both in person and by phone with a high level of professionalism
· Ability to accomplish projects with little supervision
· Good customer service ethics and high expectations for quality
· Ability to work on a team of professionals
· Proficient using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email and our website.
· Valid BC drivers license and access to a vehicle
· Knowledge of Hospice and Palliative Care
· Completion of a Criminal Record Check
SUPERVISION
· This position will be supervised by the Executive Director and in my absence the Coordinators of the Mission Hospice Society will supervise.
HEALTH AND SAFETY PRACTICES
· We are an office environment, but do pay particular attention to cleanliness in order to inhibit the spread of germs by having our offices professionally cleaned once a month and using bleach in the bathroom.
· We have not had any staff accidents in many years and encourage our staff to work under proper lighting and take proper rest breaks.
Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 8 weeks
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 per week
