The Milton Lodging Program at Trillium Demonstration School and E.C. Drury School for the Deaf are currently seeking a Student Support Coordinator to play a vital role in the development and implementation of programs, policies, and procedures for students enrolled in lodging school services. You will also contribute to the development and management of programs that complement the classroom and support the instructional program.

Note:

• The successful candidate will be assigned to either the Learning Disabilities Program or Program for Students who are Deaf.

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) is an asset. The successful candidate working with the E.C. Drury School for the Deaf should be willing to obtain an ASL certification.

• This position will require on-site work five (5) days a week, with a mixture of daytime and evening shifts.

About us:

The Ministry of Education’s Provincial and Demonstration Schools Branch (PDSB) is responsible for the direct operation of four sites that operate provincial and demonstration schools for pupils who are Deaf, hard of hearing, blind, low vision, Deafblind and students with severe learning disabilities. The Provincial and Demonstration Schools Branch oversees the policies and operation of the schools. In addition, the schools provide lodging facilities for the pupils; provide alternative programs as part of a continuum of services offered by local school boards; partners with parents/guardians and external stakeholders in meeting the needs of students who are Deaf, hard of hearing, blind, low vision, Deafblind and students with severe learning disabilities.

The Trillium School provides intensive and specialized educational and lodging programs for students with severe learning disabilities; resource services to support school boards in making appropriate provision for students with learning disabilities.

The Ernest C. Drury School for the Deaf is committed to providing our students educational and lodging programs that are rich with opportunities to acquire and develop language, literacy, numeracy and inquiry skills in American Sign Language (ASL) and English in a diverse, multiculturally- enriched learning environment.
