Structural Engineer in Training Jobs in Cambridge at Waddell Engineering Ltd.
Job Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to assist in the structural design of agricultural, residential, commercial, and industrial projects. Working closely with Waddell’s Engineers and EITs, your primary responsibilities will include:
Translating plans and sections onto RISA-3D for structural analysis
Using spreadsheets and hand-calculations to design or check structural members
Creating markups on plans to reflect structural changes and requirements
Quality assurance checks of 3D models
Steel Connection Design
Required Skills:
To be considered for this position, candidates should have the following attributes:
Proficiency in reading architectural and structural plans
Proficiency with drafting software and 3D modeling programs such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, SolidWorks, RISA-3D, etc. (It’s not required to know these, but experience is an asset)
Good spatial awareness
Highly organized, motivated, and curious worker with a good attitude and enthusiasm for learning
Ability to learn new programs and concepts quickly and with minimal direction
Flexible work habits, able to multi-task and remain efficient in a fast-paced work environment, comfortable with shifting priorities and timelines
Special consideration may be given to candidates with:
Experience in timber and steel design
Familiarity with the Ontario Building Code
New graduates who have completed their engineering degree at a Canadian university.
Qualifications:
Engineering degree (Civil)
Good computer skills, word, excel, basic AutoCAD
Good positive attitude and willing to work with others
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
